This is a very unusual white tea grown and hand-processed in Malawi. It is made entirely from the stems rather than the leaves of the tea plant, and the cultivars that produce the tea were selected for maximum production of catechin anti-oxidants and L-Theanine in the hot southeast African climate.
These unusual Camellia leaf buds are minimally processed like a white tea, simply dried in the sun. It yields a unique taste, with a sweet aroma reminiscent of hops. Note: the dry leaf has very little weight compared to its volume. One ounce is quite a bit.
